The bar chart gives information about young Europeans’ expectations to change in five different aspects relating to the quality of life in the future 20 years.
Overall, it is clear that a large majority of European youngsters expect that the air quality will be degraded. In addition, they believe it is unlikely that all areas will get better, except for food quality.
The percentages of those having a high expectation to enhance the food quality and that of those believing it will become worse are similar, at approximately 50%. In contrast, just over 20% of young people in Europe expect that the air quality will get better whereas the figure for the opposite side is significantly higher, at roughly 80%.
In terms of water quality, 40% of people think that this area will improve while 60% have a contrary opinion. In addition, they all have the same expectation for the aspects of health and people communication, with just over 40% of them believing those aspects will improve and nearly 60% thinking that they will get worse.
