Bear with = be patient: kiên nhẫn với ai/ việc gì

1. Examples:

  • My mom always bear with me (kiên nhẫn) and gently shows me how to do all the things over again.

  • Usually, I am the only friend who can bear with him (kiên nhẫn) and hear him out so I guess (đoán) that’s why we’re still friends until now.

2. Examples with contexts:

Part 1

Patience // When do you need patience (sự kiên nhẫn) the most?

As for me (Đối với tôi), it’s when I have to receive my customers’ complaints (phàn nàn). Sometimes people can be rude or turn aggressive if they don’t get the answer they want and I just have to try my best to bear with them in those situations.

Cooking //  Who taught you how to cook?

To be honest, my mom is my cooking teacher and although, I’m a slow learner in practicing things and techniques (kỹ thuật) even the basic (căn bản) ones, she always bear with me and gently shows me how to do all the things over again.

Part 2Describe a person who is talkative (nhiều chuyện)

Well, my friend is not always annoyingly chatty (huyên thuyên đến khó chịu) but sometimes when he’s particularly interested in something, he could spend hours digging deeply into (đào sâu) that subject. Usually, I am the only friend who can can bear with him and hear him out so I guess that’s why we’re still friends until now.
